More Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Promotional Images Released

Caesar's come a long way from bellowing "No!" to Tom Felton's face...
20th Century Fox have released a series of new promotional images (below) for their impending science-fiction blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The follow-up to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes picks up a decade after the first film's conclusion, with the human race rendered all-but-extinct and Caesar attempting in vain to maintain control of his army of primates as the seeds of civil war are sewn at the very core of the community.

If anything, Rise's narrative looks to have been something of a small-fry in comparison to what's to come in a couple of months' time. You'll no doubt notice in this article's third image that Caesar can and is now wielding a human shotgun, presumably levelling it at those armed survivors we then see approaching the ape encampment in the fourth pic. Aside from that, there are more glimpses of the legions of apes Caesar (who'll now have a wife and two sons) commands, Gary Oldman's war-hardened general, Caesar offering his help to a comrade and even one of his troops having what looks to be a drink with a human foe (seriously, it has to be seen to be believed!).

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes climbs into cinemas worldwide this July 11th.
