As we've said before on several occasions, April is just going to keep ramping up with each passing week, and its second full week is no exception in this regard. Packing some of the month's biggest and best releases, the next seven days are going to be an extremely hectic period for anyone trying to keep track of each and every one of the entertainment industry's latest developments.
Of course, if you're amongst that select group of fans, then On-Screen is the definitive source you'll want to follow in the days ahead. Here's our guide to what you can expect between tomorrow and April 20th:
- GAME OF THRONES: THE LION AND THE ROSE- Let's propose a toast to the happy couple, Joffrey Lannister and Margaery Tyrell! As any fan of Game of Thrones will know, the show's weddings always tend to go by without a hitch, so we'd wager that this week's second instalment of Season Four will be a relatively painless and uneventful episodes with no major ramifications for the remainder of the latest run. In other words, you will not want to miss The Lion and the Rose- take our word for it, the show will never quite be the same again...(Monday 14th- Sky Atlantic, 9pm)
- X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST FINAL THEATRICAL TRAILER- Hot on the heels of last month's stunning second full preview of X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer is revealing the third and final theatrical trailer for the movie in two days' time. Expect to see more of this time-travelling blockbuster's 1970s sequences in the video, along with some extra tantalising glimpses of what's going on in 2023 too. Seriously, is it May 22nd yet? (Tuesday 15th)
- MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: PROVIDENCE- Caught your breath back after the shocking events of last week's Turn, Turn, Turn yet? We hope so, as our oxygen supply looks to be under threat once again with Season One's eighteenth episode, Providence. Coulson's team are alone in the world after the destruction of SHIELD, save for the oncoming threat of the Clairvoyant and his growing army of sleeper Hydra agents. Plus, expect to see Glenn Talbot- an esteemed adversary of the Hulk- make his Marvel Cinematic Universe début this week! (Tuesday 15th- ABC)
- THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2- Captain America: The Winter Soldier was just the beginning of the Summer of Film 2014's superhero offerings, and we've now arrived at the next competitor on the list. Continuing the storyline of the rebooted franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sees the Webbed Wonder fight Jamie Foxx's Electro, Paul Giamatti's Rhino and Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin in a desperate effort to keep New York City safe. Rest assured, though, that this time around, not everyone's going to make it out alive! (Wednesday 16th)
- ARROW: THE MAN UNDER THE HOOD- After the life-shattering events of Deathstroke, it's difficult to predict just where Arrow will head this week. Nevertheless, we're ecstatic to see how Laurel will deal with the revelation of the Arrow's true identity, how Slade Wilson's plans for Starling City will continue to take shape and how two scientists making their Arrow débuts ahead of their recurring roles on spin-off The Flash this Autumn will factor into proceedings. (Wednesday 16th- The CW)
- AND THERE'S MORE- Walking With Dinosaurs, The Harry Hill Movie and Nebraska are all headed to DVD and Blu-Ray tomorrow, April 14th, so go ahead and pick them up if you missed out on seeing them in cinemas first time round (although feel free to pass up Harry Hill once again, of course!). On top of those releases, Transcendence will get its UK première this weekend with a series of advance screenings on both Saturday April 19th and Sunday April 20th...
The action continues next week as Derek returns to Channel 4, Warner Brothers Montreal receive their final chance to redeem Batman: Arkham Origins with their Cold, Cold Heart DLC campaign, Danaerys takes Meera by force in Game of Thrones: Breaker of Chains, Johnny Depp stars in new sci-fi thriller Transcendence, Coulson reunites with his infamous cellist crush in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD: The Only Light in the Darkness and Roy battles Team Arrow in Arrow: Seeing Red!
