iTV have today announced the broadcast date for the first episode of the eighth season of their talent show Britain's Got Talent. As usual, the series will kick off with a run of auditions across multiple episodes before moving towards daily live semi-finals and ultimately the all-important live final.
Nothing much has changed in terms of the judging panel for Season Eight, with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams all set to return to their seats and to man the now-iconic red buzzers which stand between the contestants and their long-sought dreams. It should be pretty obvious by now that Britain's Got Talent is as much of an acquired taste as The X Factor, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! and the like, but from a ratings perspective, there certainly seems to be no stopping this juggernaut year in, year out, and as such, iTV's decision to consistently bring it back for more on an annual basis makes complete sense (even if the unparalleled loyalty of its mainstream fanbase often doesn't!). The teaser trailer for the new run can be seen below.
Britain's Got Talent will return to iTV1 on Saturday April 12th at 7.15pm.
Fail to see the attraction to these shows, kids barely out of primary school put in front of false TV judges for a quick piece of fame. Parents' should be ashamed.
