Think that the 360 and PS3 will be ignored from now on? Think again...Codemasters Software Company Limited have today announced the development of GRID: Autosport for release later this year. The third instalment in the best-selling franchise of racing video games, Autosport fits into the now-rare category of being a current-generation only product.
Yes, you read right- rather than marking the first entry in the GRID series to launch on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, Codemasters' latest project (which introduces new racing styles such as street competitions and endurance) will skip the pair of coveted high-tech consoles altogether. That's not to say that it won't make its way over to Microsoft and Sony's oft-prioritized hardware sometime in the not too distant future, but for now it seems that the developers believe there's still plenty of life in the consoles which fans have owned for up to a decade now, and quite frankly, we couldn't agree more...
GRID: Autosport accelerates onto PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this June 27th (in the UK, at least- it'll land on June 24th over in the States).
