The beloved British comedian will return to chat with more celebrities later this year!
The BBC have today announced the commissioning of a second season of their talk-show The Michael McIntyre Chat Show. Presented by esteemed UK comic Michael McIntyre, the show has played host to stars including Joanna Lumley, David Jason and Ray Winstone over the course of its six-episode première season, which will come to its conclusion tonight.
Just as Line of Duty's re-commissioning last week came as something of a shock, this latest development in the BBC's programming schedule for the remainder of 2014 was by no means guaranteed. Chat Show's ratings have sat consistently at around the 1.5-2 million mark for the past few weeks, and while we've got no doubt that these are reasonable figures for a show airing in a weekday non-primetime slot, that the Beeb are keeping hold of this and yet letting go of projects like Ripper Street (well, nearly) and The Paradise is more than a little bizarre. Nevertheless, our congratulations go out to the show's production team, and we wish their series all the best for the foreseeable future!
The Michael McIntyre Chat Show wraps up its first season tonight at 10.35pm on BBC One and will return for a second season this Autumn.
