Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Returning Cast Members Announced

Maria Hill may not take up her job at Stark Industries after all...
Marvel Studios and ABC have this week confirmed a duo of returning guest stars set to feature in the final episodes of the first season of their detective drama Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. Taking place after the franchise-altering events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the conclusive five-part run (titled Uprising) will chronicle Agent Coulson's team's desperate battle for survival against the legions of Hydra agents who have corrupted SHIELD at its very core.

Joining Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennett and the gang for Season One's climax will be none other than Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson, each reprising their roles as (ex-) Agent Maria Hill and (ex-) Director Nick Fury respectively. The former How I Met Your Mother actress will appear in Episode 19- Nothing Personal- and in doing so will provide a significant narrative development for the Hydra arc, finally gaining the opportunity for a much-requested team-up with the Son of Coul on the battlefield in the process. Jackson, meanwhile, will cameo in the show's season finale, with Nick Fury presumably hunting down rogue Hydra elements over in Europe whilst events come to an earth-shattering conclusion for Coulson's team Stateside. Could we acquire one or two tidbits of information regarding Avengers: Age of Ultron in five weeks' time, we wonder? Stay tuned for more news as it comes!

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD continues next Tuesday April 15th with "Providence" on ABC and next Friday April 18th with "End of the Beginning" on Channel 4.
