First Call of Duty 2014 Promotional Image Released

Source: IGN
Ghosts may have taken the franchise to new lows, but there's no stopping the COD train.
Sledgehammer Games have today released the first promotional image of this year's annual Call of Duty video game. Reportedly set to continue the narrative of the Modern Warfare series, the series' eleventh chapter will apparently retail on both next-generation and current-generation consoles in a similar vein to the FIFA franchise's continued multi-generational release strategy.

In terms of precisely what we're meant to glean from this initial screenshot other than that the soldiers we control and fight alongside in this year's COD will look that much better thanks to texture upgrades on One and PS4, we're stumped at this point in time. Nevertheless, if and when concrete new details emerge on Call of Duty 2014 (as we'll brand it until we hear otherwise, since the franchise is edging closer to FIFA territory thanks to its increasingly minimal yearly feature overhauls)'s narrative, its multiplayer modes and its release window (read: November), you'll be the first to know right here at On-Screen.

Call of Duty 2014 will blast onto PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC this Winter.
