First Halo, now this- what will Microsoft come up with next?
Xbox Entertainment Studios and Channel 4 have this week announced the production of an eight-instalment televised drama series for broadcast in the near future. Titled Humans, the show will serve as a loose adaptation of the Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans, with casting and plot details still to be announced.
Though it may have slipped the memories of the vast majority of Xbox fans, this is by no means the multimedia studio's first funded project. Steven Spielberg is currently hard at work penning and directing a live-action TV series based on the beloved Xbox-exclusive Halo video game franchise, while Alan Wake developers Remedy Entertainment are rapidly blurring the lines between the TV remote and the joypad with their part-game, part-TV experience Quantum Break, which is set to launch exclusively for Xbox One before 2014's done. Once concrete information emerges on precisely the form of narrative we can expect to see from this audacious new joint venture, though, you'll be the first to know right here at On-Screen.
Humans will broadcast on Channel 4 and Xbox Live in 2015.
