Are the Marvel Cinematic Universe's inhabitants about to assemble for a sequel to Disney Infinity?
Disney Interactive Studios and Marvel Entertainment have this week teased a collaboration on an upcoming instalment of the former development studio's Disney Infinity video game franchise. The series launched last August to widespread critical acclaim, with its first entry breaking plenty of commercial records upon its début on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo WiiU and Nintendo 3DS.
What with Disney's recent acquisition of both Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios, it should come as no surprise that Infinity's fanbase have been clamouring for the integration of characters from both the Star Wars and big-screen Marvel universes in future DLC or a potential sequel. The just-released teaser trail (below) doesn't exactly reveal much regarding precisely what to expect from the first crossover with the MCU, save for that Mr Incredible, Sully, Jack Sparrow and the rest of the already-impressive ensemble of classic Disney characters will be interacting with Captain America's shield in months to come- and with any luck, they might even come face-to-face with the man behind the shield in the process...
Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition is reportedly set to retail on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo WiiU and Nintendo 3DS this Autumn.
