Superman and the Dark Knight clash in cinemas a little earlier here!
The UK Film Distributors Association has today announced that Warner Brothers Pictures' upcoming superhero blockbuster Batman Vs. Superman will release on different dates in the United Kingdom and the United States come 2016. Loosely based on the The Dark Knight Returns comic-book arc, the much-anticipated ensemble piece will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jessie Eisenberg and Jeremy Irvine.
On a superficial level, the latest development in the Man of Steel sequel's UK release scheduling will make a life a bit easier for superhero fans here, since the film was originally set to launch day and date with none other than Walt Disney Pictures' Captain America 3. That's still the case over in the States, of course, but anything and everything could change between now and May 6th, 2016, and if there's one certainty in the film industry, it's that we can never quite predict the developments it will offer up in the months ahead. As ever, though, if you're planning to stay on top of all of the major industrial news as and when it breaks, then there's really no better way to do so than to keep it On-Screen as 2014 progresses.
Batman Vs. Superman will now collide with UK cinemas nationwide on April 29th, 2016.
